Welcome to my blog! I’m Terry and Maple Moon is the place in the northwoods of Wisconsin where I have lived for 30 years. Every spring we head out into these woods to make maple syrup and to make the transition from our long, cold winters into a new summer of green trees and cold, blue lakes.
This place has been a schoolroom for our two kids during the years that we homeschooled. It holds a network of trails that we ski in the winter and bike and hike in the summer. It’s a place that holds many memories.
These days I am finding new inspiration here as I learn to harvest color from the plants that grow in these woods and roadsides. Throughout the seasons there is always something new to experiment with, from dandelions in the early spring to tree barks in the winter. With this amazing palette from nature I make quilts, bags, clothing and other articles that capture the essence of the dye plants in their fibers.
I hope you enjoy learning along with me and seeing some of the beauty of my little corner of the world.
